Librarian National Library of Indonesia
Chaerul Umam has worked in the National Library of Indonesia as an analyst for eight years and has just begun his career as a librarian since he finished his master last year. His portfolio comprised analyzing, planning, communicating and other functions in Library Cooperation Division. Umam received a bachelor’s degree in English Literature from the State University of Jakarta in 2007. He took his master’s degree in Library and Information Management from the University of South Australia in Adelaide in 2014. His informal education includes a short course of Digital Library Practices and Information Technology Application for Knowledge Management in India (2010), Library Services and Management Training (2010), and Translation Training (2009). One of his recent profes-sional achievements was being one of the speakers at IFLA World Library and Information Congress: 81st IFLA Gen-eral Conference and Assembly in Cape Town, South Africa in 2015.

Desi loves her job as a librarian because everyday is a challenge as she meets visitors with various information needs. She works at the General Collection Services Division in the National Library of Indonesia (NLI) since 2010 and her regular tasks include serving and providing guidance to users on how to use the library and Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC). She has a librarian competence certificate received from the Librarian Professional Certification Institution in 2013. She has also participated in several workshops and trainings in librarianship.
Aristianto Hakim has been working at the National Library of Indonesia (NLI) since 2000. His career started going up after he finished his bachelor scholarship program of library science in 2009. Aris has been promoted to be a leader for website development programs. With his capabilities in library science and computer science, he has been trusted to be a library system administrator. When NLI has launched an eLibrary program, Aris became a trainer and mentor to improve ICT knowledge of public librarians and to assist them in implementing ICT in their library. Aris was also privileged to serve as a committee member of the 15th Consal Executive Board Meeting and General Conference, a member of the National Library of Indonesia Exhibition Delegation in the 79th IFLA General Conference and Assem-bly, and a member of Indonesia delegation for ASEAN-JAPAN Library Development Forum, 2015.
Irhamni is the Library Program Development Analyst at the Planning Bureau of the National Library of Indonesia. His job includes program analysis, library development planning, program monitoring, and library pro-gram evaluation across Indonesia. He took his Master’s Degree of Information Technology for Libraries in Bogor Agri-cultural University and Bachelor’s Degree on Library and Information Science in University of Indonesia. He received several accolades, such as, master scholarship award from the National Library of Indonesia and the IFLA Grant from the National Library of Indonesia in 2013. He is also active in several professional organizations as member of Indo-nesian Government Planning Association and Association of Library and Information Indonesia.
